Established in 1954 as an offshoot of Hanaharu Shuzo in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, this brewery produced local sake under the Miyaizumi brand for many years. Soon after the current head came to the brewery, the brewer of "Sharaku," Higashiyama Shuzo, went out of business, and since 2005 Miyaizumi Meijo has taken over the brand. This is a next-generation sake that its young brewer created after being inspired by Fukushima's renowned "Hiroki" sake brand. This precious sake is crafted by allowing liquid to drip naturally from the fermenting mash without adding pressure. Its fresh, fruity bouquet and refined taste explode in the mouth, leaving a fleeting aftertaste.
